Wonder Women, the first solo-art exhibit for the Colombian artist, Claudia Marulanda, on November 12th in NYC that will benefit Girls Inc., a non-profit that inspires 140,000 girls across the U.S. and Canada to be strong, smart, and bold.
The socially-conscious art exhibit will include a dynamic night of art, music and empowerment as the artist, who’s also an entrepreneuyr and mother of a teenager boy, features 13 original pieces that reflect the beauty and power of women.
“Just because we are independent, fearless women, it doesn’t mean that we should let go of our inner child that loves to have fun.
As wonder women, we should strive to inspire other women to bring out their best; to know that we should value and appreciate ourselves; to realize that we can’t give love unless we love ourselves first,” said Claudia.
Born in Cali, and living in New York City since very young, Claudia graduated from New York City Technical College with a degree in Art & Advertising Design.
She then spent 15 yrs as a graphic designar and art director for big magazine publishers in NYC, focusing on editorial and catalog design.
As her career progressed, she then broadened her skills from graphic design to drawing and painting, developing her true passion as an artist.
Over the past three years she has fine-tuned her talents with art classes at School of Visual Arts and the Art Students League.
