Believe it or not, la belleza Eva Mendes and I have a lot in common. We were born in Miami. We are of Cuban-American descent. And, we spent last Thursday night in the same room!
Ok so, we don’t have that much in common but I did get the chance to meet her. The star of Ghost Rider and Hitched received the ‘Mujer Vanidades’ award during the Vanidades Icons of Style ceremony in New York. Held during Hispanic Heritage month, the event honors influential designers and celebrities for their contributions to fashion, design, music, philanthropy, sports and entertainment.
I was delighted to attend on behalf of Pantene and have the privilege to see Eva receive her award. (Yes, her hair looks just as fabulous in real life as it does in photos #IWantThatHair.) Eva dedicated the award to her mother and sisters adding that without them she wouldn’t be the woman she has become.
Other award recipients included Oscar de la Renta, Prince Royce and Jorge Posada. Numerous celebrities showed their support by attending. Among them were the very down-to-earth stars of the Netflix series “Orange is the New Black”. I had to make my apologies for not yet catching the show although I hear its fabulous. The conversation then turned to parenting. Two of the cast members are tween moms!
You can catch Eva Mendes and her gorgeous mane on the cover of this month’s Vanidades. And be sure to check out the Pantene products!
