Attorney and Certified Financial Planner, Shannon P. McNulty, launched Savvy-Parents.com, an online resource providing easy-to-access, unbiased legal and financial planning information for parents with young children.
Savvy-Parents.com helps parents navigate important topics, including estate planning, insurance, selecting a financial advisor, college savings, divorce, and work-life balance. In addition to online articles, the company holds in-person informational events in New York City.
“I’m passionate about helping parents navigate the legal and financial issues that are so important to protecting and providing for their families,” said McNulty on why she created the site. “Savvy-Parents.com provides a valuable resource for parents who strive to be savvy about legally and financially planning for their children’s future.”
Savvy-Parents.com serves as a complement to McNulty’s Manhattan law practice, which provides estate planning services for young families. As a lawyer with the Certified Financial Planner certification, McNulty felt she could provide a resource that would help parents understand legal and financial planning issues in an integrated way. She partners with select legal, financial, and parenting professionals to provide readers with content reflecting a broad spectrum of expertise.
McNulty also hopes that the site might prevent readers from falling prey to biased and misleading information that is common in the financial services industry. Having personally witnessed friends being sold financial products that were not in their best interest, McNulty is a strong believer in doing your research.
“I believe it’s extremely important to be an informed consumer – especially when it comes to your family’s well-being. Savvy-Parents.com is a site where parents can go to get unbiased information without any pressure,” said McNulty.
